The Richmond Food Bank is seeking a dynamic, caring, and compassionate individual to join our team as a Warehouse and Distribution Coordinator. This full-time role, offering $49,000 annually plus benefits, is an opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of over 3,200 community members in need each week.

As a Warehouse and Distribution Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our mission, ensuring that nutritious food reaches those who need it most. Reporting to the Operations Manager, your role will involve overseeing both on-site and off-site food distribution, managing inventory, and planning schedules to ensure everything runs smoothly. You will play a crucial role in training and supervising our dedicated volunteers, ensuring that all activities adhere to strict food safety guidelines. Your leadership will help maintain the high standards of our services, which also include supporting a School Meal Program, a Home Delivery Program for vulnerable individuals, and connecting people with vital community resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize the distribution of food to clients, considering factors such as need, storage capacity, and transportation logistics.
  • Supervise volunteers to assist with food distribution activities. Ensure that volunteers are aware of and adhere to food safety guidelines.
  • Work with warehouse and distribution staff to ensure timely and efficient distribution of food
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure an adequate and equitable supply of food, including category selection and restocking.
  • Drive a 3-ton truck to and from our off-site depot locations.
  • Provide weekend coverage for program and/or distribution staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Class 5 License with clean driving record
  • Previous experience in inventory management, distribution, logistics or a related field

Assets:

  • Forklift Operator (Class 1 License) Certified
  • Experience driving 3-ton vehicle or comparable
  • Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and/or forklift
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certified
  • Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED Certified

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Bending and lifting boxes up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Exposure to ambient temperatures and noisy conditions
