School Meal Programs

Kids and teens need nutritious food to grow, be healthy, and to effectively learn at school. Yet too many Richmond students go to school hungry. In partnership with the Richmond School District, we’re helping to address this need by supporting food and meal programs in Richmond schools. Please contact keith@rfbs.org for more information.

Our Impact

In the 2015-2016 school year, we ran three pilot meal program projects. In 2016-2017, we expanded to nine programs in seven Richmond schools.

In 2020, we proudly supported 11 school food programs. Many of these programs had to be adapted due to the pandemic, switching from an in-school meal format to a take-away or delivery hampers.

Now in 2025, in collaboration with the Richmond School District, we are now delivering healthy school food to all 51 schools in Richmond.
