Community Outreach

Outreach Organizations

During our grocery distributions, we often welcome community organizations to host a booth and speak about their services. Retired community nurses, student nurses from BCIT, social workers, and specially-trained referral volunteers help our clients access health, mental health, and community services. We also have agencies helping our clients access job training, employment initiatives, and housing.

In addition to offering connections to social services, we occasionally partner with dentists and nursing students to offer blood pressure, diabetes, and dental clinics.

Please contact us if your social service agency would like to have a booth (either for one or several of our grocery distributions).

Community Resources

Many of the people we serve need help accessing social services. We’re happy to connect them with vital community services.

RFBS in the Community

The Richmond Food Bank also offers outreach tables at community events. From BBQs to fun runs, events for homeless individuals to back to school celebrations, we are eager to make sure that we are rooted within our community, and that awareness and support for our services is as high as possible.

If you are interested in the food bank having an outreach tables at your event, please email us at info@rfbs.org to arrange this. If possible, please try and provide at least two weeks notice, so that we can make sure that we can find sufficient staff or volunteers.
