Did you know? Despite the summer’s warmth and outdoor allure, many Canadian Food Banks (and other charitable organizations) tend to see a decline in donations during the summer months. In response to this, CanadaHelps has initiated the Great Canadian Giving Challenge for the tenth consecutive year. This initiative seeks to counter the summer-giving drought and extend vital support to charities across the nation.
For the month of June, every $10 donated to the Richmond Food Bank via our CanadaHelps page automatically enters us to win an additional $10,000 donation. Every $10 donation will also enter YOU into a prize draw for over 40 great prizes. The prize draw will happen in the first week of July and two lucky charities will receive a donation of $10,000 each.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we provide assistance to over 2,800 people per week and are seeing this number increase as food prices rise. Monetary donations help us purchase our most needed items, so that we can provide clients with balanced meals. For every $1 we receive, we can give out about $7 worth of food.
