Workshop Schedule

12:30 PM – Planting with Purpose: Start Your Spring Garden for Home & Community

Join us for an informative session on how to start growing your own food in your backyard or from your balcony. Whether you’re new to gardening or looking to grow more, this workshop will help you get started with practical tips and resources. Plus, discover how growing your own food can support not just your household, but also your local food bank. Learn ways to share your harvest or get involved in community growing efforts that give back!

1:30 PM – Stories of Indigenous Harvest, Growth & Community

Join us for a visual storytelling presentation exploring the deep connections between Indigenous food systems, traditional harvesting, and contemporary gardening practices. This workshop focuses on revitalizing and sustaining food sovereignty through traditional ways and small-scale farming. Through images and stories, we will highlight how communities can access and share traditional foods, while inspiring others to reconnect with the land and sea by growing their own food or accessing local produce. This workshop is both an invitation and an encouragement to grow, share, and nourish community through Indigenous foodways.

This event is open to all. Click here to RSVP!

Let’s come together to celebrate community, share knowledge, and build a stronger, more connected Richmond. We look forward to seeing you there!
