On Friday 24 February 2017, our community came together to celebrate former RFB Executive Director Margaret Hewlett and her 28 years of service to Richmond.
A packed house of RFB volunteers, people from our partner agencies, donors, and elected officials attended the festivities to recognize all that Margaret has done to help our neighbours in need.
Elected officials including Speaker of the BC Legislature the Honourable Linda Reid, Minister of International Trade and Minister Responsible for the Asia Pacific Strategy and Multiculturalism the Honourable Teresa Wat, City of Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie, and Richmond-Steveston MLA John Yap presented Margaret with certificates of appreciation.
Not to be outdone, the RFB volunteers and Board of Directors presented Margaret with gifts.
Margaret was joined by her family on this momentous day.
After the ceremonies, all gathered and enjoyed cake!
We are very grateful for the many years Margaret gave to our organization. Margaret oversaw great growth of our services and programs- all of which helped many people struggling with hard times.
Thank you Margaret- we hope you have a joyous retirement!
