Richmond Food Bank staff, volunteers, and directors had the pleasure of attending the Pathways Clubhouse “Taking Care of Business” Breakfast on Tuesday 10 March 2015. Pathways Clubhouse is one of our valued community partners, who offers hope, encouragement and opportunities to people who live with mental illness.
We arrived before dawn to learn how Pathways Clubhouse supports people in our community coping with mental illness and hear stories from their members on how Pathways helped them overcome the stigma and barriers of mental illness.
We also accepted a plaque recognizing our eight years of participation in their temporary employment program. This wonderful program has connected Pathways Clubhouse members with jobs in our community, including our janitorial position. Businesses and other organizations get hard-working employees supported by Pathways Clubhouse staff.
